Fusing two brands

Boekenwereld (online book store) and Bookchoice (online book subscription and community) were two separate platforms and brands, each with a distinct visual style. With this rebranding we brought them together visually as a first step in their fusion.

Introducing the Curlygraph

A hand-drawn ‘B’ nestled in an imperfect circle, symbolising the brand’s charm—perfect through its imperfections. It reflects a genuine passion for reading, books, and storytelling, standing in sharp contrast to the vast online stores that treat books like any other soulless commodity.

A rich colour palette

Boekenwereld caters for all types or readers. We introduced distinct colours for different genres allowing us to create unique worlds. Using these base colours we defined different shades to be able to create eye-catching visuals.

Type that tells a story

Typography plays a leading role in the world of books. We found the perfect balance between the traditional styles used in book printing in of the past and the digital world of today.

Restyling the Boekenwereld website…

We restyled the existing site, giving it a fresh look and feel without the need for extensive development. Genre colors were strategically applied to create a distinct vibe for each category, adding a unique feel and visual identity to every genre.

Again, a completely fresh appearance with minimal development effort. The genre colours were taken a step further in the audio book player and online reader environments.
